
Professor Fhatuwani Mundalamo is the Founder and CEO of Rural Education Development, a non-profit organization. He is also the Headman (leader) of Tshitavha Village since November 2001.
Prior to resuming as a CEO, Prof. Fhatuwani Mundalamo worked as an Associate Professor of Science Education at the Tshwane University of Technology and was responsible for supervision of the Departmental Research and Innovations Committee of the Mathematics, Science and Technology Education Department. 
He also taught Physics to undergraduate student teachers and supervised Masters and Doctoral students projects investigating the teaching and learning of science in schools.

Previous to his work at the Tshwane University of Technology, Fhatuwani worked as a lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University) teaching Physics to undergraduate and postgraduate students who were training to become teachers. He also supervised Masters and Doctoral research students who were investigating the teaching and learning of Science in schools. Prof. Fhatuwani Mundalamo was also appointed Head of the Division of Science and Technology Education at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Prof. Fhatuwani Mundalamo also spent 9 years with the Medical University of Southern Africa (later known as the University of Limpopo). He worked as a Natural Scientist tasked with management of laboratories, equipment and the management of laboratory staff members. He taught Physics to undergraduate and Honors Bachelor of Science students.
Prior to resuming his work as a Natural Scientist, Fhatuwani was a Research Assistant at the Van de Graaff Generator of iThemba LABS, Faure in Cape Town. Here, he was responsible with researching how semiconductor materials behave under different temperatures and how this affects the integrated circuits (IC) used electronic devices.
Prof. Fhatuwani Mundalamo earned a Ph.D in Physics Education from the University of South Africa (UNISA) where he was also selected to be a visiting scholar for 2 months at Umea University, Sweden in 2004.
He earned Honors and Masters degrees in Physics at the University of the Western Cape, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Venda.
